(Reuters) -Japanese steelmaker Nippon Metal’s vice-chair will meet senior U.S. officers in Washington on Wednesday in an try to save lots of its proposed $14.9 billion takeover of U.S. Metal, the Monetary Instances reported on Tuesday.

Nippon’s Takahiro Mori will meet a number of deputy cupboard secretaries concerned with the Committee on Overseas Funding within the U.S. (CFIUS), the FT reported, citing individuals acquainted with the state of affairs.

Nippon, the White Home and the U.S. Treasury Division didn’t instantly reply to Reuters’ requests for remark.
