Israel indicts sister of Hamas chief Haniyeh on terrorism incitement By Reuters

JERUSALEM (Reuters) – Israel’s State Lawyer on Sunday indicted the sister of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh on prices of incitement and exhibiting solidarity with a terror group, after she allegedly praised Hamas’ Oct. 7 assault that sparked the six-month previous struggle in Gaza.

Sabah al-Salem Haniyeh, 57, lives within the southern Israeli city of Tel Sheva. Her brother is predicated in Qatar, as are different officers from Hamas, the Islamist group that guidelines the Gaza Strip.

Haniyeh has been held in custody since her arrest on April 1, Israel’s justice ministry mentioned. There was no rapid remark from her lawyer.

In keeping with the indictment, within the days after Hamas’ Oct. 7 killing spree in southern Israel, Haniyeh despatched messages to dozens of contacts, together with to her brother, praising the cross-border assault and calling for additional “slaughter”.

Considered one of her messages talked about within the indictment contains the road: “Oh God, rely them and kill them and do not go away any of them, Oh God.”

Hamas killed some 1,200 Israelis and foreigners within the Oct. 7 assault, sparking the struggle, during which Gaza’s well being authority says greater than 34,000 Palestinians have been killed.
